60 Best New(ish) Creator Economy Platforms
Creator economy start ups are springing up left and right these days, and, as any creator or rep can tell you, there's no way to properly vet every single one. So I went ahead and did it for you! From updates on the obvious to new entrants, here's the top 100 on my mind, not including any that don't have products you can sign up to right now (for example, we all know services companies are cool but not exactly something you can hop on and use right now). Please also note: I'm sure I'll miss plenty so if you work at a platform I missed, I mean no offense!

No time to waste if I’m going to get through 100 platforms! I’ll break them down by genre for easier navigation and enter a quick note about how I would use it as a creator.
And here’s my humblebrag: I know folks at most of these companies so let me know if you want an introduction.
Also, there are some affiliate links (why not?) and I’ll mark those with a ‘*’ so the FTC will let me be.
And, as always, if I missed one please comment so I can profusely apologize then give you a compliment, whether warranted or unwarranted!
Let’s get started:
AI:
Spotter Studio* is an all-in-one AI powered suite for content ideation, thumbnail ideas, competitive analysis, and analytics with a super reasonable price point.
Opus Clip for editing clips from long videos (especially podcasts), reformatting horizontal video into vertical video, captioning, and searching your back catalogue of content.
ElevenLabs* turns text to voice, especially useful when you need a lot of voice over for a video quickly on formats like faceless storytelling YouTube channels.
STXT is AI character chat and monetization focused on ‘OnlyFans’ style creators, kind of like if your day-to-day operations agent was AI.
TwinTone is a similar AI character chat app but seems to focus on all verticals who want real-time AI characters that can stream and chat.
HeyGen also creates video AI twins, but focuses more on videos than live, with excellent audio and video fidelity.
Suno creates incredible AI music and lyrics either from a regular text prompt, or you can add your own lyrics and genre and hear a version of the song. My favorite of the AI music generators.
ChatGPT for ideation, research, rough drafts for scripts, assets for thumbnails, and metadata. I also made this chatbot to help me use more Gen Z lingo without having to think about it when needed.
Ateliere is a well-known high-end production suite, but just launched their creator offering that’s essentially ‘Mafiathon in a box,’ allowing users to easily find content in their back-catalogue using AI and switching between near endless video feeds.
Captions has blossomed from an AI video captioning app to a full suite of AI tools for content production.

COMMUNITY PLATFORM:
Passes* is a paid community platform that’s kind of like Facebook, with tons of different formats of unlockable content including pictures, videos, and livestreams, paid subscriptions, and other community building features.
FanFix is a paid super fan community platform that has the look and feel of Instagram, where the focus is on unlockable content in feed and DMs.
Brand Army* is a paid super fan community platform that’s more akin to Telegram or Discord, with paid unlockable content that also includes merch sales and audio.
Patreon is the OG paid super fan community platform that’s kind of like Kickstarter, where monthly subscriptions unlock regular perks. Greatly preferred by podcasters and fan communities.
Mighty Networks is like Squarespace meets community offerings for fans, with lots of customization and types of monetized offerings.
OnlyFans…don’t pretend you don’t know what this is. But they are starting to get more non-adult creators on the platform as they push their OFTV platform for episodic content.
Fansly is OnlyFans but isn’t trying to move outside of adult content. It’s arguably the most adult content.
LetsText monetizes every Gen Z’s favorite platform: text. Much like these super fan sites, fans can pay to get regular content via text from their favorite stars.
HeyDaily also monetizes subscriptions to text but with the promise of a daily cadence, making it preferred by self help gurus and other advice-givers.
PAYMENTS & COMPANY ADMIN:
EssentL offers HR services and insurance for creators, all backed by a major insurance company.
Karat has banking and credit card services for larger creators, and also understands how to build true community with their card holders.
Lumanu focuses on payments for brand deals on an agency level, making it super easy to distribute revenue to creators.
Inflverse handles creator payments with a twist: they’ll take those pesky ‘90 day payment periods’ and pay them in advance for a small commission.
Breeze provides larger creators with upfront cash at reasonable terms for the value of their content library.
Viewture is also focused on creator investments, but with some other services including ContentID (monetizing re-uploads of your YouTube content on other channels) and fast YouTube AdSense payments.
Gigastar is like the Nasdaq for YouTube channels, allowing fans to invest in creators then get monthly distributions based on their performance.
CONTENT PLATFORMS & DISTRIBUTION:
Gift for altruistic content creation where you can ‘gift’ media to someone publicly.
Atmosfy is like TikTok meets Yelp, highlighting local businesses.
Giphy is still the leading platform for clocking huge numbers on content, where gifs are often measured in trillions of loops and you can easily make them yourself!
Tenor is the same deal as Giphy: gif creation and distribution. Both are the gif engine for different platforms so if, for example, you become a top gif for ‘hello’ you can get massive impressions.
beehiiv is where you’re reading this right now! Simple and inexpensive newsletter creation and monetization.
Substack is another great newsletter option, and also seems to be building really strong monetization features.
Medium is well known as a blogging platform, but the quality of writing is fantastic. If you’re writing really elevated stuff, Medium should be part of your strategy.
Bluesky is Twitter’s counterpart, only Twitter has an overwheming rightwing skew and Bluesky has an overwhelming leftwing skew. But there’s great non-political content too if you know where to look.
LTK is the leader in simple, beautiful shoppable content through affiliate links, kind of like creating a shoppable catalogue out of your content.
ShopMy is a bit more in-your-face about being a ‘shop my favorite celebrity’ platform than LTK, which is effective for creators who want a simple, beautiful storefront.
WhatNot is auction-based shoppable video for collector nerds (like me!) If you’re a video game or card shop and you’re not using WhatNot, you’re missing out on a huge revenue opportunity.
Vouch Vault is extremely new to the scene, creating a TikTok-style feed of genuine reviews of products, media, and more to discover your next great passion.
Streamlabs* feels obvious for game streamers, but many new IRL streamers don’t know it. Very easy way to make beautiful live streaming graphics and interactivity.
Repurpose.io exists to, well, repurpose your content on other platforms. They also have really amazing automated workflows so you can set it and forget it.
Kajabi is a leader in creating monetizable courses for creators so they call sell digital goods based on their zone of brilliance.
EarnOS* is a pay-by-result digital marketing platform that pays creators to get their fans to complete branded ‘missions’ that involve primarily social media actions like watching videos or following a profile.
DoubleJack* is iGaming with an affiliate twist, paying up to 75% of earnings back to referrers. It’s the closest thing a creator can get to owning their own online casino.
Shopify* is still the easiest way to spin up a fast and cheap storefront so you can start selling physical and digital goods quickly with a clean interface.
Fourthwall allows you to set up a print-on-demand storefront with tons of products, and have a private community for buyers kind of like Passes meets Shopify.
Warren James makes aesthetic merch for large brands, including more complex offerings like plushies.
Streamloots is a monetization toolset for streamers, including plug-and-play gamification features like card games and auctions.
MagicLinks* is the easiest way to find affiliate links for loads of brands with strong commissions.
Daisy is a new platform that pays great rates for creators to engage with and around branded posts.
BackPac helps monetize music on your YouTube shorts through a large, valuable library of sounds that pay you a success fee based on your views.
ANALYTICS & LINK-IN-BIO:
FYPM creator reviews and transparent pricing for influencer marketing campaigns. You can save $10 from your subscription with this code*: PHIL-KV0-FYPM
Braid goes deep with their analytics for creators. They have a link-in-bio feature, but their magic is their relentless focus on actionable insights.
Beacons* is an enterprise-level link-in-bio that also creates media kits and one-sheets for associated talent.
Alfan Link is a link-in-bio tool mainly adopted by Arabic-language creators, but also happens to be free on day-one, making it one of the easiest ways to get started.
Direct.me* is a link-in-bio tool that focuses on data transparency, with low-cost and deep analytics about visitors to your page.
SproutSocial has a lot of fire-power (and a bit higher price point) for a global creator CRM software, but it’s worth it if you need a lot of creator discovery, outreach, and campaign execution.
Influenzer is a lower-priced AI enabled creator discovery and influencer marketing management platform.
OTHER FUN STUFF:
Opinari* simplifies creating micro-polls that then show an affiliate ad after voting for additional revenue.
Glow makes community fundraising fun with shared goals amongst followers that unlocks perks.
Tiltify helps raise money for charity through live streams, and has recently launched the ability to raise money for anything, kind of like live GoFundMe.
Throne is my favorite platform to ask your fans for gifts, kind of like an Amazon Wishlist with more gamification and security.
